Since 2006, the Klopfer Martin Design Group has taken strategic approaches to a broad range of projects, often balancing significant challenges of site, budget, and schedule. Our interdisciplinary work operates at the seam of landscape | architecture | infrastructure | urban design. We find projects to be most successful when they embody a constant, open and collaborative process with our clients. Our work emerges from the contemporary integration of a site’s history and cultural context and the creation of a compelling, lasting narrative.
We have been fortunate to work abroad on a wide range of projects such as China’s celebrated Shanghai Bund for the 2010 Expo, the landscape master plan for Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island, and the memorialization of a holocaust burial site in Puchovichi, Belarus. Closer to home regional expertise extends from urban squares and parks in Boston, Brookline, Portland, Providence and Cambridge, to campus and educational spaces, to nature centers and private gardens.
Our work has been recognized with awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Rudy Bruner Award of Urban Excellence, and the Environmental Design Resource Association, and published in the United States, China, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and Hong Kong.
