Brigham and Women's Hospital | Tower Building Healing Garden
Boston, MA | On hold
Located on the fifth floor of the 75 Francis Street bed tower, this space is a desirable site for a healing garden because of its accessibility to so many patients. Utilizing the adjacent elevator bank, no patient bed is further than 180 feet from the garden.
The design and planting plan for the Healing Garden creates pockets of seating among a diverse mix of plants for people to enjoy fresh air and the nature around them. A carefully curated planting palette brings a mix of color, texture, and structure for interest throughout the year.
Accessible and open, the garden’s terrace and vestibule/winter garden provide places of respite for times when weather prevents enjoyment of the garden. Natural lighting from skylights in the vestibule roof and views of the garden make it a restful place for patients and staff throughout the year.
