Anish Kapoor sculpture placed at 56 Leonard Street

Our work at 56 Leonard Street with architecture firm Herzog and de Meuron in New York City is finally complete with the unveiling of an awe-inspiring sculpture by Anish Kapoor. KMDG supported the project with terrace design and detailing, and collaborated on the siting of the sculpture. This monumental piece and its mesmerizing curves and reflective surface invite passersby to engage in a dialogue between art and space. This new work not only adds aesthetic value to the bustling streetscape, but it also serves as a catalyst for cultural enrichment and community engagement. Public art, like this piece, has the exceptional ability to ignite conversations, inspire thought, and foster a sense of pride within a city. It transforms ordinary spaces into vibrant, interactive galleries, encouraging individuals of diverse backgrounds to pause, contemplate, and find common ground through shared artistic experiences. In this way, public art serves as a powerful medium for inclusivity, making cities like New York pulsate with creativity and making life for its residents and visitors all the more enriching.
