The landscape at Bentley University’s reimagined Adamian Academic Center directly supports the building’s new role as a campus hub of knowledge, creation, and collaboration. The Center’s Innovation Pavilion directly fronts the upper quad space opposite the University’s main library, creating a dynamic new relationship and campus destination. The open lawn space is preserved though made more accessible through a new path network with direct connections to new entrances. Stormwater from the paths will be collected in a slightly depressed garden space planted with native species that also references the ledge outcroppings from which the site originated.

Anchoring one corner of the Innovation Pavilion will be a new café space that spills out into the landscape. Set within a grove of canopy trees and activated well into the evenings with catenary lighting, tables and chairs will provide students and faculty with an intimate space to connect and collaborate. Adjacent to the café grove is a reimagined, flexible, and open plaza space that serves both the Adamian Academic Center and Lindsey Hall’s Koumantzelis Auditorium with an outdoor reception area that provides dramatic views to the distant landscape. The Center will open to the campus community in fall 2027.
